About Tae Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do is one of the most systematic and scientific martial arts, which teaches more than mere physical fighting skills. It is a discipline, which shows ways of enhancing our spririt and life through training our body and mind. It is also a modern sport that has gained an international reputation, and stands among
the official games of the Olympics.

The main feature of Tae Kwon Do is that it is a free fighting combat sport using bare hands and feet to repel an opponent. It has become one of the world's most prominents sports with over 40 million practitioners from over 142 different countries. Since 1994, the International Olympic Committee admitted Tae Kwon Do as an official event of the Olympic Games.

Tae Kwon Do is a total learning activity which improves a person's athletic abilities, self awareness, heightens concentration, increases self discipline, and self restraint. The self-discipline that develops as a result of learning and practicing the techniques usually carries over into other areas of an individual's lives.
